In Washington State, 13,375 adolescents (ages 12-17) who were eligible for state-funded substance abuse treatment did not receive treatment. This means that 67% of young teenagers who qualify, both clinically and financially, for publicly-funded substance abuse treatment did not get the services they needed because of limits of available funding.
