Prescription drug disposal bill dies

On March 5, I blogged about a Washington State House Bill that would have provided for the safe collection and disposal of unwanted drugs from residential sources through a producer provided and funded product stewardship program. Though it is considered an environmental bill, it is a substance abuse prevention one, as well. Prescription drug abuse among youth is on the rise in our state.

The bill never made it to the House floor for a vote and thus died last Thursday.
